UM Center for Hemispheric Policy’s New Latin American Cities Initiative Program in Buenos Aires
As part of the University of Miami Center for Hemispheric Policy’s new Latin American cities initiatives program, CHP at a conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 27, 2008. Co-sponsored by AMCHAM Argentina, the Argentine American Chamber of Commerce dedicated to increasing trade and investment between Argentina and the United States, “Forum Argentina – United States” presented several panel discussions on current issues of significance to both countries and the region, including Prospects for the U.S. Economy and its implications for Argentina and the world, the hemispheric energy outlook and traditional and alternative options, and the U.S. presidential election and its impact on Argentina. President Donna E. Shalala opened the conference and the featured speaker was Thomas P. Kelly, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Embassy of the United States in Argentina, Buenos Aires.
